Club Fell Running and Endurance Awards

Before Christmas it was agreed that we ought to get the awards out for the 2019 Season to celebrate the achievements of our members.  It had been hoped we’d be able to make more of a splash around this, but the rapidly increasing Tier system meant that there was an urgency to getting these delivered before we were back in Lockdown.  The awards were subsequently delivered before Christmas from the back of a car when we were still in Tier 2!

Congratulations to:

Billy Hicks (Men’s Open Champion / Open Handicap Fell Champion / Summer Series Men’s Champion)

Alannah Birtwistle (Ladies’ Open Champion / Summer Series Ladies’ Champion)

Kathleen O’Donnell (Ladies High Fell Series Champion)

Simon Fox (Men’s High Fell Series Champion)

Oscar Trevena (Club Enthusiast Award)

Rob Gittins (Male Endurance Award)

Steff Wood (Female Endurance  Award)

Nathanael Booker (Best Newcomer Award)

The manner in which the awards were distributed does nothing to counter the pride we have in all of our members-come athletes-and we look forward to seeing new runners come through the ranks, representing the club (at every level) or doing awe-inspiring crazy challenges in the future. Perhaps you’ll be one of them?

Club Awards -- Cross Discipline Challenge

As coronavirus prevented us from celebrating our running achievements last year, and it now does not look like we will be getting together any time soon, the Club has decided to start distributing awards and documenting our award winners from last year. So over the next few weeks we will feature the many different awards that we give each year for the whole range of disciplines where we compete. First off is the Cross Discipline Challenge organised by Dave Larkin.

Back in 2019/2020 when there were races, the following club members completed the Cross Discipline Challenge. They have just received their long overdue vouchers and medals:

Helen Gowin, Jack Farrall, Dave Larkin, Oli Nettle, Will Nettle, Billy Hicks, Rebecca Dilworth, Philip Goodfellow (sorry, last two not pictured)

Congratulations to all of them. Completing the challenge shows commitment and resilience and is a great way to get involved in all that the club has to offer. Details of the challenge are on the website if you fancy giving it a go in 2021/2022.

AGM and Awards Evening 2020 - POSTPONED

***** POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19 *******

***** UPDATED ***** to remind anyone who has a perpetual trophy to please arrange to return it to the clubhouse ASAP, many thanks

The annual AGM and awards evening will be on Friday 3rd April from 7pm at the Rugby Club, which you should be able to find if you know where the clubhouse is.

The format will be similar to previous years, a short AGM with reports by members of our committee and a brief discussion on, well, whatever seems to be worth discussing, but an agenda will appear nearer the time.

This will be followed by a bit of food (provided free!), the bar will also be open (not free!).

After that there will be the presentation of awards for road, cross country, fell, and the club's special awards, which are given based on nominations by club members.

So, if you would like to nominate someone for an award, please complete the form below.

SPECIAL AWARDS NOMINATION FORM

You can nominate as many people as you like, and for whatever awards you like, but nominations will close Wed 18th March 2020, after which the committee will consider nominations received, and decide a winner for each award.

We'd really like to see lots of nominations, from all ages and sections of the club, and also as many of you as possible, juniors and seniors, at the AGM.

Thanks for your support, and hope to see you there, from all at Macc H & AC.
