On a blustery and wet night there were 23 teams (33 competitors) out hunting for the colour of doors all around Bollington. Mark Burley took the win for the 3rd year. There was a donation of ÂŁ142 for East Cheshire Hospice as well. Many thanks to The Vale Inn for hosting us and to those who helped with registration and marking.

Cool but dry conditions were in store for the final race of the Club Road Race Championships, the Stockport 10 mile race. This challenging 10 mile race starts at the track in Woodbank Park and then takes in a few of the local hills before finishing back at the track. There were 21 Macc Harriers who completed the race with some great performances.
For the men Paul Sharp (1:04:01) led the way placing 52nd overall in a strong field with a PB performance. Ciaran Wright (1:06:08) was second Harrier also running a PB time. Rounding off the top three male Harriers was Steve Millar (1:08:12) also with a PB performance.
For the female Harriers Daisy Pickles (1:12:55) was first over the line placing 18th female overall. Daisy was followed by Lyndsay Purdie (1:14:08) who had a PB run. Kathryn Hutchinson (1:15:06) rounded off the top three female Harriers.
As usual there were many other great times which can be found below with a link to the full results.
Being the last race in the Club Road Race Championships, the Mens and Ladies “Open” Overall Points Prizes can be easily calculated at this time. Ciaran Wright is the overall male points winner taking first with the points he gained from this last race and Emma Lord is the overall female points winner after leading most of the year. All the other awards are still being calculated and will be announced before Christmas.

Your favourite festive run is back for the last time this decade! So bring your friends, family and Santa hats for this hilly 4-miler round Langley. Weather-dependent the course will be the usual route starting outside the Methodist Church on Cock Hall Lane up to Haddon Farm and back down by Ridgegate Reservoir. If icy we will opt for an alternative route through Macclesfield Forest, so bring some off-road shoes just in case.
We will be using the 'self-handicapping' format as in recent years. You estimate your run time for the course. The winner is the person who finishes closest to their own estimated time. You are NOT allowed to take any watch/timing device on the race – it’s not supposed to be easy! For reference times for the course in 2018 were from 20 to 50 minutes. We will also record the finish positions to cater for those who want to 'race' the course.
Please note that any under-9s wishing to take part need to be accompanied around the course by an adult.
Registration will be at the St Dunstan Inn, Langley from 9:30am. Registration CLOSES at 10am.
Entry is FREE but we will be collecting donations for The Rossendale Trust. We're aiming to beat last year's whopping £245.26.
Start: 10:15am for runners estimated to finish over 30 mins, 10:25am for those estimating to finish sub-30 mins. Please note both start times are earlier than last year.
Prizes will be awarded at the St Dunstan Inn afterwards. Feel free to bring along your Christmas Day leftovers (mince pies, Christmas cake etc) so we can all refuel!
Volunteers: If you can help by acting as a marshal, timing, taking positions or by taking photos (new camera for Christmas anybody?) please contact Declan Murray ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) who will be able to give you all the information you need.
Any other questions - get in touch, otherwise see you on the 26th December!

Just received from Graham Allen at the N Staffs XC League... Dear All,
Unfortunately, due to only having two fields available for our use, instead of three which was our original allocation, we are cancelling the races for the Under 20, Senior and Veteran Athletes races.
We are proceeding with the Races up to Under 17's which have less numbers to accommodate.
Please be aware that the Under 17 Men will start with the Under 17 Women & Under 15 Boys at 1.00pm, normally they would be starting at 1.30pm.
All Individual & Team Awards for Under 20, Senior and Veterans will be based on the Overall Positions at the conclusion of Race 3.
Sue & Ken Rushton will be taking all Trophies, both Youngsters & Adult Categories to Rodbaston Campus, they will hope to commence the Presentation of Awards at around 2.15pm.

A wonderful day with a record turnout. 57 runners, several walking groups and an invaluable group of helpers.
First thanks to the helpers...
Andy Ardron, Dave Wilson,Martin Rands, Dave Buxton & Nancy Bunyan at various points on the route.
Annette Morris & Anna Maddox at start & finish & Bob &Â Pauline Lynch at the finish.
I put all the helpers in the draw for the spot prize which I hope you`ll agree was the right thing to do.
Though I take responsibility for the "bad" handicaps I must thank Barry & Mark for their work on the season`s results spreadsheet & Neil for his input on those of you who don`t appear there.

While it is still November, the spate of festive runs has now begun with the fast Wilmslow Festive 10K. With the option of fancy dress for a fun run or a club vest for those wanting to push for a PB, the conditions were ideal for some great times from the 51 Macc Harriers who ran.
For the men Finley Proffitt (32:24 PB) was first Harrier over the line placing 20th overall and first U20 in a very strong field. Finley was followed by Mark Walker (33:40) who placed 33rd overall and just 7 seconds off his 10K PB. Special mention goes to some of our Vet runners with Ann Harris (51:53) taking first V65 and Harry Newton (58:34) taking first V80+. Harry also had a great shout out at the begging of the race as the “most mature” runner in the field!
Some amazing times were had by the rest of the Macc Harriers with their times and a link to the full results below, great running everyone!
