Macclesfield Harriers & Athletic Club

Great Warford 10 Mile Road Race

The Great Warford 10 Mile Road Race was staged on Sunday morning.  It was the latest instalment of the Cheshire Grand Prix Series and it also incorporated the Cheshire 10 Mile Road Race Championship and Cheshire also fielded a representative side against neighbouring counties.

Several Club members took part in the race.  Chris Bentley was the leading Harrier with Kristy Readman the leading lady Harrier.  They both finished high up in the results which included some of the region’s best road athletes.  Other Harriers today showed how much they have improved over the last few months and for some Harriers, they will gain valuable experience from running this relatively long distance race.

The conditions were quite cool considering the time of year leading to good conditions for running.  Wilmslow Running Club organised the event and they would expect to raise several thousand pounds for the David Lewis Centre which lent its facilities for the day to help stage the race.
