Competitor numbers can be collected at the track from 11am on the day. There will be NO entries on the day for pole vault or hurdles, but limited spaces may be available in other events (we are capping numbers in all events to keep to the timetable). T&F coaching clinic 16th March - report

Saturday morning, Harriers held the first of 2 Pre season Track and Field coaching clinics at the track. The forecast wasn’t looking favourable and this meant that several of the coaches had to adapt their sessions accordingly, most notably in the High Jump and Pole Vault. Despite the dark skies it was really pleasing to have 32 athletes looking to improve their athletic abilities ranging from several under 13s, some who are still patiently waiting to join the club on the junior waiting list through to one senior athlete. A whole range of events was catered for with 9 coaches in attendance offering Javelin, Hammer, Discus, High Jump, Pole Vault, Hurdles and Sprints.

As we head in to Track and Field season we will be holding the 2nd clinic on Saturday 30th March, 10-12am. This would be ideal practice for anyone interested in competing for the club in the upcoming leagues or the Open meeting that we are holding to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the track (this takes place on Saturday April 13th). Alongside the coaches, Bob recruited several volunteers to carry out some much needed track maintenance. Thanks to everyone, Coaches, athletes ,Sarah on reception and Barbara Murray for all her hard work in making these extra sessions such a success, Even the rain stayed away until we had finished. If anyone is interested in gaining their Level One Officials qualification, then England Athletics have 2 dates coming up in the North West : 17th February, Liverpool & 9th March, Sport City, Manchester. https://www.englandathletics.org/officiating/qualifications/officials-courses/

We really need more qualified officials, especially Time Keepers. The club will refund the course fee - you just need to officiate at 4 events. This is open to all... Parents, Grandparents, anyone who wants to get involved and support the club - WE NEED YOU !!

T&F Open Meeting to celebrate 20 years of Macclesfield Track

Twenty years ago, on 30th June 1999, Macclesfield Harriers & AC celebrated the opening of the new athletics track with an invitation open meeting. Since then the track has proved to be a valuable training and competition venue with athletes across Cheshire and beyond benefiting from this great facility. To mark the occasion, Macclesfield Harriers are hosting an Invitation T&F Open Meeting at the track on Saturday 13th April 2019. Please come and support YOUR club by participating or volunteering to help in the for the event. The event is open to Cheshire AAA affiliated clubs and full details can be found here.
