A week long introduction to athletics for 9-15 year olds will be held at the athletics track from Monday 24 - Friday 28 July, 10.00-15.00. Application forms will be available in mid May from Macclesfield Leisure Centre or Macclesfield Borough Council, Leisure Services Department, Town Hall, Macclesfield.

Under 11 and Under 13 Training Group Waiting List

Owing to the large numbers of children currently attending athletics training
sessions in the under 11 and under 13 training groups and the limited number of
qualified coaches, we regret that there is a waiting list for new children wanting to
join.

For reference, age groups are defined as follows:
· Under 11 = currently aged 9 or 10 and still under 11 on 31st August
· Under 13 = age 11 (birthday on or before 31/8), 12 and 13 (birthday after 31/8)

To add your child’s name to the list, please speak to any of the under 11 or under 13 coaches. Alternatively, contact:

To assist with the large numb ers and attempt to make in-roads into the waiting list, any parents/guardians/grandparents who are able to provide regular/ occasional help on training nights would be much appreciated.

Indoor Sportshall League

Youngsters from Macclesfield Harriers have been competing throughout the winter against other North West clubs in the Indoor Sportshall League. Their superb efforts have resulted in four out of six age groups finishing high enough in the League to qualify for the final at Wigan in March.
