RunMaccFest

RunMaccFest is the new name for the Macc Half and 5K.  Please help us make the event another big success by encouraging everyone you know to enter.

Word of mouth is a really important way of promoting our event so please tell your friends, family, work colleagues, fellow parents, rival/buddy at local races, parkrunner you chat to and anyone else you know.

There's the Half, 5K, Fun run and this year the new 10K so there really is something for everyone; this could be the inspiration they need to get started or to step up to a new challenge.

You could even get a Community Challenge or Schools Challenge Team together.  You need either 3 runners for the Half or 5 runners for the 5K to make a team.  No extra cost - just extra fun!  Any questions on the challenges please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

A pdf of the poster is available here - RunMaccFest Poster - please print some out and put them up in your school, cafe, pub, car window, work place and anywhere else you can think of.

Thank you!

Dave Larkin (Community Challenge Co-ordinator)

Dunham Massey 5K 2019 Race Report

Yesterday evening within the beautiful grounds of Dunham Massey 12 Macc Harriers took on the first of five races in the North Cheshire Grand Prix 5K series. This 5K course at Dunham Massey is run twice during the series but in two different directions. Thursdays route was the slower of the two at Dunham Massey but that did not stop the Harriers who ran with some great times, including a strong showing from our junior runners.

For the men Billy Hicks (17:11) continued his strong recent form by placing 9th overall in a strong field. Billy was followed by Mark Burley (18:20) who placed 16th overall. The third male Harrier over the line was junior Jake Roberts (18:52). Following these top three were Ciaran Wright (20:06), Ray O’Keefe (20:10), Paul Rands (21:34), Keith Mulholland (22:19) and David Waterson (26:02).

For the female Harriers Hannah Bridger (19:53) led the way placing 5th female overall. Hannah was followed closely by junior Rebecca Main (20:05) who placed 6th female overall. Third female Harrier was junior Libby Greeney (20:42) who placed 8th female overall.  Sarah Miles (26:07) was fourth female Harrier over the line.

Lyme Park Parkrun 2019 Race Report

On a busy weekend of races with the Great Manchester Run on Sunday and the Hathersage Hurtle today there were only 11 Harriers who took on the next race in our Club Road Running Champs, the Lyme Park Parkrun. Ideal running weather and a dry course made for some great results and times for those who took on this beautiful but challenging Parkrun. For the men Billy Hicks (18:36 course PB) followed up his 2nd place during the week at Shining Tor with a 1st place today. Billy was followed by Jimmy Sheldon (19:53 course PB) who was in 3rd place overall. Neil Hey (21:41) was third Harrier placing 8th overall. The rest of the male Harriers were Ray O'Keefe (21:58), John Mackintosh (25:07 course PB), James Perry (26:45) and Andy Buckroyd (28:01 course PB).

For the women Harriers an "Unknown" runner in the results, but known to us as Hannah Bridger, was 1st female Harrier and 1st female overall with a time between 21:41-21:55. Second female Harrier was Libby Greeney (24:30) placing 3rd female overall. Anna Ireland (25:48) was 3rd Harrier just a few seconds off her course best. Rounding off the female Harriers was Kelly Buckley (27:03) with a course PB.
