2018 Fell Handicap Report & Results

Report from Phil Cheek (Organiser)

A lovely day for the 2018 event except for a sprinkle of rain & very dry underfoot which made it nicer for us all.

Thanks to you all for coming, to my helpers at road crossings, start & finish and to Barry for his season long race handicap system. It didn't work quite as well this year because the slower (non racing} runners who don't appear on his system were too generously handicapped. This meant that none of the fastest runners finished in the top 10.

Special thanks to St Dunstans, particularly as they didn't finish the night before until after 2AM & opened up for us at 8.30am. They have said we'll be welcome back next year. Please support them with your custom when you get the chance.

Results are shown below...

Annual Night Street Orienteering 2018

The annual Night Street Orienteering will be on Wednesday 19th December 2018. The event is starting and finishing at The Vale Inn, Adlington Rd, Bollington. Andy Skelhorn (Fell Section) is the organiser. This is for club members.

Registration is at 18.45 and the start is at 19.00. The event is 90 minutes - find as many controls as you can either on your own or in pairs (don't be late back - there are penalties).

Please ensure you wear hi-viz and you will need a head-torch, a pencil and a poly bag (for the map in case of rain). Look out for other runners whilst you are out as Bollington Harriers are doing the same course (but from the Poachers).

There is no entry fee but there will be a collection for East Cheshire Hospice.

Food will be available until 9.00pm - best to order before you run.

Please let Andy know if you plan to come along.

2018 British fell relay results

Yesterday 4 teams represented the Club at British fell relays in Grasmere. In challenging conditions, all the teams performed well and there were some fantastic individual results. Overall nobody left anything out on the hills. The results by team (and I've picked out a few special mentions) are shown below:
