Easiest way to get to Poole's Cavern is: drop down on A54 towards Buxton and at T junction turn left towards town Centre. Pass Rock Bay Garage on your right. Keep eyes open for right hand turn before the main traffic lights. Take this for short distance to T junction (there are no road names shown!). At T junction turn right, follow the road and after a few minutes you will see Poole's Cavern car park on your right. You can park on roadside anywhere round there.

If you miss the right hand turn and get to the traffic lights, turn right and go down the road for around three quarters mile. You will pass one set of pedestrian traffic lights. Just after the next set of pedestrian traffic lights turn right. (I think Poole's Cavern may be signed from here) Almost immediately turn right again and follow the road past the School. Take next left turn and Poole's Cavern is in front of you.

Nice run today Hazel, thanks. I am sure the views would have been stunning had we been able to see as far as our feet. Crackin' caffe, definitely one to do again. The route I took is here (opens in Google Earth so you need to have it installed if you want to see anything)
