Land access and the Teggs Race

Postby Simon » Sat Jul 13, 2013 4:24 pm

Had a chat with one of the landowners who kindly let's us use their land for the Teggs Race and has done for many years.

He has been very supportive of it, but is a bit hacked off at having to ask a runner to leave his land this week, as they were trespassing and had a map of the race in their hand. He has no problem with supporting the race, but that's for the day....not all year round.

The farmers do not have to allow the race to take place . They are running their businesses and quite legitimately don't want their stock disturbed.

Please respect the fact that the bulk of the route is private land, and without the goodwill of the landowners, the race will not be taking place.

Cheers,

Simon

Hi simon, I'll copy your note onto the teggs page on our site.

If you want to, send your note to andy butler (from whaley), at the fra and I'm sure he will put it on their site.
