Fell Handicap 2012

Postby phil cheek » Thu Nov 29, 2012 1:01 pm

All,
it`s that time of year again & I`ve made space in the garage for all the bribes.
I`ll also be accepting beer etc at the weekend away in Shropshire.
Meanwhile, the club fell running group continues to gather new members & I get further & further behind so can`t even see how well you`re all running or even who you are.
I`ve handicapped all the regular racers but will inevitably have missed a few folk.So PLEASE post here to let me know if you`re planning to run.
I`ll post start times when I`ve heard all the excuses, got the bribes etc.
As always competent guests, lapsed Harriers & friends are welcome.
Thanks,
Phil

Phil, I am back running a little after a full 12 months off. I haven't run ( if you can call it that, as there is a fair amount of walking & wheezing going on ) further than 6.5 miles yet. I will try to get a little fitter & a couple of slightly longer runs in over the next couple of weeks. I am going to need you to be generous though !.
Craig.

Phil - Ray Eagle ran several times, and at his funeral several of the Wilmslow gang expressed an interest in running in his memory.

It would be good to extend the invite to them, if you put a message on their notice board I'm sure you'd get some interest. No doubt they could sort out suitable handicaps as well.

Count me and my dodgy sidekick in. The sidekick has only done 4 races this year (Marsden-Edale, Mow Cop, Boars Head and Kinder Bimble - if it helps to look these things up). If anyone would like a recee of the route then tag along this Sunday from Tegg's bottom carpark - but bring lots of doggie snacks.

Count me in Phil, but as I haven't run more than a few reps of Teggs for the last few months, I'd best start the night before.

Hip still not right after my PB at the Langley 7, (a highly significant - for me - of 59:55 :D  ) so I have retired from tarmac.

Be good to see you Craig.

Not wishing to drop anyone into the preverbial but Craig was running really well on Wednesday, in fact you would have been forgiven for thinking he was leading the run! He was THAT fast. :D

I would be very surprised if we we that far apart at the finish. Just trying to help oh Mighty Handicapper!

Phil (C),
Mandy and I are both expecting to turn up - as usual we're not expecting any favours from the handicapper!
Phil (B)
To provide some balance, Craig came round the full handicap route with us this morning and didn't fit your description at all (even slower than us)

What's the name of that bird that flaps around pretending to have a broken wing when anyone approaches?

Hi, count me in. I am looking forward to my first fell handicap.
My times are on the Fell Champs table, but the last time I raced was in May because I've had a bad hip . . .

Hi Phil and all,

I'll be along as usual. I intend to handicap myself by eating something spicy and inappropriate at the Viceroy with Kirsty and co the night before, so hope my start time will reflect that. The usual bottle of vino collapso should secure an early start, I hope.
