Route approx 2hrs of rolling farmland. No significant climbs, no mud, <1km of road, but some long grass in places.
An option to extend to 3hrs & include Gun Hill for those wanting more of a challenge.
And for those Mods amongst you - its 'Scooter Fest' in Leek the same day.

Elf and Safety have issued a severe warning that nasher Al and his sidekick, Stan ,better known as Desperate Stan will be on the prowl at Turners Towers, so you have been warned.
And if people feel let down by the experience it’s probably because their legs have been reduced to stubs by these tenacious of canines.
It’s locally known that Al can clear a field of sheep in less time it takes to open a gate.

Lovely 10 mile run.

Mudskimmer took us on this mud-less route over lush green fields where placid cows lolled and chewed the cud in idyllic settings. Surely this is England as intended?
Never mind the tree that almost took us out just a few fields from TT’s. It having the temerity to come down just after we had passed it. What a nerve! Or, the bed of rampant nettles we had to negotiate to attain field access.
I must say that at this point it was most thoughtful of out leader to take the initiative and show leadership by clearing a pathway through this encroaching menace.
Then for a moment I though the shouts emanating from her persona as her bare legs made contact with the ripened leaves of this feared plant were of pleasure but soon realised they were of pain as she instinctively made a dash to the safety of the field.
After settling down we were off again, leaving trails in the damp grass to eventually arrive at Horton village with its quaint old church at its center.
From there it didn’t take the troops long to return to TT’s and soon tucking into hot sausage rolls and other tasty offerings the hosts so kindly put on for us.

wonderful time!

Route taken by most of us is here, those that is who didn't run up and down the lane at the end just to get it up to 10 miles.
