Moderators: Philip Barnes, Neil Gunn, Colin Ardron, Julian Brown, Nancy

Postby Mr T » Tue Oct 19, 2010 1:52 pm

Thanks Julie and Hazel, you'll both be most welcome. Planned start for the attempt Julie will be the usual Harriers time of 6.30pm from the Moot.

All - I'll be in the Lakes this weekend if anyone wants to have a run out. I'll be in Coniston for 2 days then Wasdale after that for 2 days. I'll be running from Coniston over to Wasdale on Sunday morning.

Anyone about in Wasdale Monday, Tuesday?

I think I am right in saying that Andy and I are the only other Macc harriers competing this year.

Kirsty may be there if she's found a partner, so that'll be 4?

Thanks Simon, thanks Andrea. Not sure we've met Andrea, hopefully you can introduce yourself one Wednesday night.

I'm currently doing between 35 & 40 miles a week with as much climb as is possible locally. This will increase next month. I'll be up in the Lakes this weekend including the LDWA event That's Lyth on Sunday with Larry. Will be out every weekend from now on doing at least 20 or 30 miles at a time. Hooking up with Craig's little outings no doubt. I'll be in the Lakes for a week at Easter from Saturday 23rd April. I've had very generous offers of help already, so I will put up a rough POA soon of who's supporting and navigating each leg. See you all out on the hill!

"Little Outings" ( see post above ) - the cheek of it I consider them a long way !.
Just because you all run off & leave me for dead at the end or use them as a oppurtunity to do repeated hill reps !.
Yours, somewhat feeling advancing years but remembering former glories !.
:)
Craig.

Jon,
Looks like I`m not relieved at mickledore at present,in which case we`ll need to be sure you (or someone else) can get you up & off Scafell to avoid me slowing you down.
I will go round & should be able to meet you at the top of the scree shute to make sure you find it.
Not sure why you`ve only got Chris Cripps for leg 5,he usually does 4 & 5,but if I`ve missed something & he`s not available for 4 Pete C is the best possible sub.

Thanks Phil. As I said, this is just a preliminary POA and didn't want to just 'assume' anyone would be doing 2 legs. I'd already spoken to Pete about Leg 4 very early on before I'd made contact with Chris. If you read this Mr Cripps you'll be more than welcome to support on Leg 4 as well! Hopefully either myself, Ian or Andy will be able to take over Nav duty for the Scafell section. I haven't reccie'd it as yet.

Happy to Nav Scafell. I am very familiar with the brown streaks up Broad Stand, or the shaley scrabble up the rake and traverse. Don't know the Foxes tarn route very well, but you are not likely to want to go that way.
