As it looks like no-one will be joining me, will probably run from Cat and Fiddle at 9.30 am now. If anyone can, ring me on 01298 24140

If you are out there Phil "The Handicaper" Cheek, it would be great if you could post up a list of approximate proposed start times for folk to argue & protest about. There has been far to little moaning & protesting so far this year !.
Will be looking to run myself & hoping to do around 3hrs ( i.e. as my last time which I think was 2hrs 58mins ) if no more snow comes.
Cheers & hope to see plenty of you on Sunday ( even if it only as you run past me ! ).
Craig.

I'd love to come along again please. I have a bit of a sniffle and a bottle of wine with Phil's name on it - the two combined should be worth a favourable handicap I think. Do you prefer red or white Phil?

Thanks,
Clare

He'll drink anything, Clare, that is as long as no price is involved. So it's been said

Coming from you Donworkin that`s rich & likely to cost you 5 minutes on Sunday.
Approx start-times coming up so you can all argue in the pub.

Phil, I suspect Andrew Addis is a bit fitter than last year and could be a bit of a ringer in that start list??

No negative appeals allowed Geoff.
But as usual I`m guessing with Andy who has been well stuffed recently,so we will see.
By the way I`m told you are a very strong contender off your start time.
We shall see.

I'm still trying to shake off a nasty flu bug so I'll not be up to the time you flatter me with Phil! Haven't run since Whitby.

I have a question regarding the route - is it considered mandatory to cross the summit of Shuts as the route I have suggests or is it acceptable to go around the bottom as many did last year?!
Old enough to know better, daft enough to still give it a go...

Surely not!!!!!
Are you implying we have cheats in our midst? They should be outed.
Rona`s to Teggs summit,Shutt summit,Cat,Sweetie tree & back via Lamaload.
If anyone has any doubts I`ll have a map on Sunday.
Weather looks VERY dodgy,my game plan is that when I go out to put up the "warning runners" signs on Saturday afternoon I`ll visit or talk to Rona about access to Common Barn. The problem is the climb from the main road,& there isn`t a realistic option to park up & walk the last bit.
If driving up isn`t an option I`ll postpone & we`ll meet in Macc or Teggs bottom & run to Rona`s for lunch.
PLEASE bring full winter kit, whistle,& if you have them mobile phone & bivvy bag/foil blanket. It is likely to be very cold & icy so YOU have to be prepared to look after each each other.
I`m not going to modify handicaps but in reality if it`s as tough a day as it might be the stronger runners will be at a big advantage.
Personally I hope the roads are OK & the fells in deep snow,
Phil

Anyone who doesn't go up Shuts should be ashamed of themselves.

(If I can do it then nobody's got an excuse!)

Not go up to the summit of Shuts! Preposterous! There will be people nipping through Clough Farm yard next, or trespassing over the field after Eve's Farm to climb fence to the road and who knows what next.
I was once spotted in the wood on the way down to Eve's farm but that's only cos I was doing a bit of recycling.
