WINCLE TONIGHT?

Postby LARRY » Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:56 am

I take it we are still on for Wincle tonight? And does anybody know what the road conditions are like once you get off the A54?

You'll be ok Larry - lots of gritting been done and so roads now clear. All paths etc very very icy, so take care. Can't make it tonight as absolutely worn out (work really does get in the way sometimes!) - will go out tomorrow during the day in the sunshine instead!

That would be great if you could Larry. Hadn't thought of any routes - possibly from Buxton, but if you have a preference elsewhere? Was thinking of going earlier rather than later in the day, say 10.30 am. If any good give me a ring on 01298 24140. If I don't answer leave message as will only be out in the garden.

Yep Hazel can do 10:30 we are at 18 Duke St just up from the pub, will give you a call round 9:30 to discuss meet up point, really any major routes are ok where the powder snow has been compacted a bit. Although mudclaws or some form of spike certainly helps with traction. I have been using pavement spikes but Yaktrax seem pretty good as well. Went over Shining Tor from Cat & Fiddle tonight which was a bit of a faff, the track at the back of long hill to White Hall is quite good, I am sure we can string something together. Anybody else care to join us?

See you tommorow
