Mudskimmer,
Hope things are going as ok as they can be out there.
I think you`ll need to wait till that 55th cos 14 hours is a bit quick v55s get 16 which is still a tough ask with all that rough stuff in the second half.

Love to jog along if I can work the domestic politics (Jon T's BG falls on her birthday and this will be on our 30th wedding anniversary), might be a tad tricky

Quite Mudskimmer.
Question is, do I need the extra 2 hours, being the older of the two.

The accommodation at the cottage in Greendale is now booked for the Friday & Saturday nights......so no backing out!
By the way the cottage can also be booked for recces etc at a cost of £35 per night, availability is generally pretty good & you just need to clean up before you leave.

The flat in Greendale is ideally positioned for the finish. It is about 50 metres from Greendale Bridge (the end) and Joss lives on the other side of the bridge. Very convenient!

The flat consists of two bedrooms with a double and bunk beds. The sofa can be made into a double bed, hence sleeps 6 but you can squeeze a lot more in on the floor. Jo charges £35.00 per night which includes electricity etc but you have to take your own bedding, towels and clean up after your stay. The Screes and t'other pub (can't remember its name)
is 1 1/2 miles away over the fields. It is possible to do the JNR and walk to and from the pub on the same day! It is even possible to get lost on the way back from the pub and 1/2 hour later end up back at the pub.

To everyone considering an attempt or support, it is a great day out on the hills and very low key compared to BGR. Its nice to go over some new territory also. Kath - I would most certainly grab the extra 2 hours if it is just a matter of a couple of weeks until your birthday.

If anyone wants to contat Jo direct about renting the apartment then text or phone me on 07973373381 - forgot to mention she is flexible about days and dates. No change over dates etc. The apartment isn't 5 star luxury, but is very comfortable and homely to mucky runners.

Forgot to mention I have blocked off that weekend and that I am more than happy to help anyone on any schedule and Kath if you decide to do it later in July then let me know the date.

Jo can be contacted at joanna@mckendrick1824.freeserve.co.uk. Just mention that you are a Macc Harrier doing a JNR attempt in June.

Joss Naylor attempt

Postby Little Og » Sat Oct 16, 2010 10:18 pm

I would be interested in joining this jaunt.
Initial aim is to do the lot (Age 51 on the day), but I accept that will require a lot of preliminary work.
If that doesn't look possible nearer the time then please add me to the potential support list.
Hazel, if you're out during the week then I might be able to join in. Feel free to drop me an e-mail (unless my knees still give you cause for concern!!)
