Quite a lot of scope there to pull another suprise out of the hat I think.

After this weekend's Handicap recce runs (see Neil's post), there will be a Sunday run recce of the last half of the route from the Cat & Fiddle to the finish at Tegg's Nose - Sunday 4th Dec. for anyone not able to make the previous week. This will include the sweetie tree. The plan is to get the bus from Macc to the Cat & Fiddle then run from there. Details to be posted on Friday 2nd Dec.

Thank you Phil and your merry helpers for putting on another wonderful fell handicap! After thinking last year that I could never get round again I was very pleased today - maybe next year I'll even visit the sweetie tree.

Here's a link to some pics from today's handicap race. You may see yourself if you passed me (most people did) or were out on the route or helping out. Several are of people spectating on the route who provided me the opportunity to stop and chat and I'm grateful to them for that.

I like the one of Carl forcing his way up the hill from the works - very expressive. The only passing person I failed to get was Simon Harding. He caught me too quick so I couldn't get the camera out in time.

Thanks to Phil and everyone who helped out. We await the results with interest.

I believe Andy Ardron joined his Dad's name on the winners' plaque so well done to him. Andy Addis and I said that as we started off together we could have all won if we had kept up, so another moral victory this year!

I`ve calculated that Tucker probably was the moral victor as usual. He must have spent nearly an hour snapping & gassing.
So I think you`ll all agree I base his 2017 start time on a run time around 2.20,so a 10.25 start time.
In addition to the 59 of you & 4 legged friends out there running & 9 more helping there must have been another half dozen spectator runners.
PS I think James ended up carrying the bivvy bag for me.....could someone arrange that I`m reunited with it,maybe at the track this Tuesday evening.

31st Fell Handicap and some of still around to savour its delights since the first one although I could have done without my efforts to gouge out a furrow with my body on the descent off Teggs!

Great to see so many doing the event and thanks to Phil and all who helped to make it a most enjoyable day.

Thanks everyone who was involved in the organising and running of the event and the support for all the non-runners on the day. Handicaps worked well, thanks Phil and Barry, though it was a bit lonely for the first half of the race! We both thoroughly enjoyed the day, but need to lower our game for a nice start time next year....
We still have the red OMM jacket accidently picked up in the pub if someone would claim it...

Dan & Andrea.
