MDOC Countryside Orienteering Event No.1 - Weds 1 June

Following on from this week's ScamperO there will be more opportunities to take part in similar competitions - one is over part of the same area!
MDOC have a summer evening series of Countryside Score Events and the first is at Over Peover on Wednesday 8th June.
Great for all ages and abilities.
Using an extract of a standard Ordnance Survey map a mass start will be at 7.30, from The Dog, Wellbank Lane, Over Peover, Cheshire, WA16 8U.
The area is pretty flat with a good network of footpaths, lanes and quiet roads.
You then have 60 or 90 minutes to visit as many of the checkpoints as you can, and answer a simple question at each one to prove you've been there.
When you get back, take advantage of the excellent refreshments at The Dog and compare you route to others.
Please email mdocnews@mdoc.org.uk if you plan to come so we can get the right number of maps prepared, and some idea of numbers for food to help the kitchen.

Details of all 4 events on the MDOC website www.mdoc.org.uk/
Other events are Rowarth 22 June, Marple 6 July, Furness Vale 20 July. They have forest orienteering in Macc Forest on Tues 14 June.
