BGR - Sat June 11th - 1800 - Kirsty Birch

If it's on the forum, it's official...

I think most of you know that I'm having a go at the BGR this summer. The plan is to start at 1800 on Sat 11th June (mainly due to the fact that I don't fancy teaching all day and then starting on the Fri - I am yet to worry about the aftermath that will be Mon) in a clockwise direction on a 23 hour schedule.

Plans are afoot in terms of road support, nav and mules and I will post more details here later tonight hopefully. I have a BGR HQ sorted for one and all to use throughout the weekend. I'm sure a fair few of you know it as the old Achille Ratti "hut" at Dunmail? It is now known as Raise Cottage (http://raisecottagegrasmere.co.uk) and is a fab place to stay, perfect location etc etc...

I know this date clashes with the other Kirsty's Paddy bid (Fri/Sat), Ennerdale Horseshoe (Sat) and Passing Clouds (Sun)...

I have set up a Facebook private event for this too so please do let me know if you would like access to this and I'll send you an invite - makes it sound all very formal indeed...!

I am available on Sat/Sun for any leg that you are short of people. I would prefer to mule as apart from the last leg i've not covered the legs that well recently.

I'll be posting an updated list here later today with a spreadsheet containing more detailed timings (thanks Julian!) plus my road support team, Sarah Beighton (SMAC) and Lucy Stephenson (Buxton) will be in touch soon regarding logistics on the day.

Might be a bit short on leg 2 as only got one nav now (Clive). We'll still have Soph and Steph and Rob is going to switch from leg 1 to 2...

You may already have this in mind Kirsty. Sophie and Steph are supporting on 2 longish legs (2 &3). I think you have enough bodies to allow them to skips some of the tops. Also they could wait with bags at the col before the out and back to Fairfield.

Good luck this weekend Kirsty. One small point looking at your route map. I was in Keswick a fortnight ago and the footbridge across the Greta to access Fitz park was no more, having been swept away in the floods last autumn? You can clearly head out by the leisure centre but it would be worth checking it out when you get there.
