9.30 Robin Hood Pub, Church Lane, Rainow. SK10 5XE

http://www.robinhoodrainow.com/

A ~2 hour off-road run from this local pub. We may be able to get into the snow for a sample of winter conditions so bring your nice warm gear and money for tea afterwards in the pub.

Best to park in Church lane to save jamming up the pub car park!! It's Mothers Day so could be busy!

It was like playtime out there this morning, with the runners behaving like school kids in fresh snow. It didn't last mind, once fatigue set in. Then it was a bee- dive for the grassy bits popping through the snow, or anything that looked firm enough to support studs from sinking deeply in the white stuff. Lilly had the right idea but then she has a foot at each corner to help ease progress. Which can't be said of her Belly master, who appears to make hard work bounding through the multifarious terrain, but somehow comes out of it looking unscathed, though as for his mental state you'll have to draw your own conclusion. :D
Fabulous route Dave, took us on. I don't think we ever tire of the routes around Rainow. It's such a beautiful spot with interesting undulations and play of land, as fit for walking as well as running, and I dare say sliding on the bum, if conditions permit. :D

Into the Robin Hood, afterwards it was, where the fayre wasn't quite what you'd expect for runners, but it was ok. Being Mothers Day, and all therein probably had an influence on the proceedings. At least they had staff this time to serve, whereas last time they didn't and the poor landlady was up to the beams having to cope with 20 hungry runners all on her tod. Oh dear, and a couple of us left without paying as well. What's the world coming to
