Club run - Christmas Eve ...Boars Head - help needed

Postby Neil Gunn » Sat Dec 19, 2015 4:59 pm

There is a run planned for 9.30am on Christmas Eve from the Boars Head, Poynton.

http://www.macclesfield-harriers.co.uk/index.php/road-running-mainmenu-27/road-running-articles/1432-christmas-eve-run-all-abilities

There are two juniors (Lauren and Stephanie, aged 14) who are DESPERATE to start running off road on the hills (and they are good) and they would love to try the run that day. Is there anybody from the fell section that might be prepared to help. The main runs (3 options) are 6-9 miles but the juniors are looking at 4-5 miles max.

You may be creating the fell runners of the future (they are quick)....

Thanks,

Neil

Perhaps a good option would be to meet them at the Lyme Car Park - this would chop off a good 2 miles from the short route.

Failing that I'm happy to take a group out.

I'm suggesting the following for the three routes.

Short route: https://runkeeper.com/user/JonFalkner/route/4149624

Medium route: https://runkeeper.com/user/JonFalkner/route/4150246

Long route: https://runkeeper.com/user/JonFalkner/route/4150235

I agree, all the routes will pass along the edge of the main car park turning left just before the lake. If Lauren and Stephanie join us there, they will reduce the routes by 2.8 miles, so the medium route might be best at 4.4 miles?
