Joss Naylor

Joss spent the evening with us last night after Jim`s epic Naylor traverse.
He,the godfather of fellrunning, was so complimentary about us as a club and so positive about our approach to these challenges.
Should we invite him to be an honourary life member......not for his contribution to the club but for his contribution to so many things we do?
Personally I`d take as a great honour if he accepted.
Comments please

Hi

I think that this would be wonderful idea - perhaps Barry/Brian can sound people out for support and bring it to the next committee meeting for consideration. Such membership is discussed and then confirmed at the AGM.

Will do Neil. It is a nice idea which I'll follow up.

I wholeheartedly support this idea - for me Joss represents everything that is "good" about fell running and athletic sport in general.

Yes, he made a similar comment to me about the club. I think it's a really good idea and one that Joss would appreciate.

Jim

Would you be able to feed in relevant information for Barry/Brian to reinforce the proposal so the committee can see the reasons and benefits.

Thanks, Neil

There's probably little more I could add, Neil. Joss simply remarked that he'd enjoyed his evening with us, saying we were a fine club (or very similar words to that)
More usefully, I suggest, would be if someone talked to Julie Gardner about this proposal. Julie has got to know Joss very well during her regular stays in Nether Wasdale.
