Six of us turned up. Nobody had a route. It soon became shambolic as we became ensnared amongst the fairways, greens and bunkers of the golf course. Whilst asking some golfers for directions we (Trevor, Julie, Richard and I) realised we had lost Dave W and Dot. They were never to be found again. A cunning run around the edge of the golf course and we reacquainted ourselves with the path. Trevor then adlibbed a circumnavigation of Langley, Tegg’s Nose, Kerridge Ridge and the canal. 2½ hours later we were back at Bullocks Lane ready for tea and cake, and still no sign of the splinter group. A nice little epic and all done so close to Macclesfield. What was is that Tucker promised – a 2 hour run? Perhaps Dave and Dot’s run met the specification.
