Polly Lander Orienteering

Would Allen be allowed to compete on his own? (He is 16.) If not, he'll need someone to run with.
I am still not running but will see what I can do walking.

I'm being picked up by Trev at 6.15. I'm sure he will have room Matt. Can you be at mine for then?

Thanks for a terrific night Phil, a very fitting tribute to Polly. I managed to escape tick-free too, despite all my marsh wallowing :)

Thanks from me and Allen, Phil. I think Allen appreciated being allowed to free-range without the constraints of parental limitations.
Hope the weather wasn't too bad when you put out the controls yesterday!

Many thanks Phil for a some fine fun in the Goyt valley and organising sociable time in the pub after. I managed to get myself
in some interesting places, usually alone.
I collected and removed one tick which was not too exhausting after last night's efforts. However, collecting controls on today's
Potter was almost too much for me today. Next year I will stick to the orienteering and keep off the volunteering, but thanks to
Julie G and everyone else in my group for covering for me as I faded and took a short cut over Burbage Edge.

Thanks to all who ran &/or helped.
Special mentions for Julian for the maps.Chris Rhodes for putting out & collecting controls. The Potterers for modifying the usual Thursday outing to take in controls and to Phil B & John Mooney for generous donations of prizes.
Both ladies & mens categories featured close finishes, with Clare beating Hazel by getting back earlier with both on 130 points while Digby & Steve Swallow both got 190 points but with Steve taking a 1 minute & hence 1 point penalty Digby won.As he is a traitor, oops sorry deserter, oops I mean ex member Digby was not eligible to take home the trophy which will now adorn the Swallow`s nest for a year.Brian j struck a blow for the oldies by finishing 3rd.
£150+ sent to Chris Cripps for donation to charity.
Phil
PS As you will all be aware Tucker was the moral victor as always but was unable to run on the night

Many thanks to Phil and team for an excellent evening out and also for the bottles of Long Hop (it was well worth pushing on a bit)!
