'A rescuer is appealing to walkers who might find a set of keys on the Peak District’s highest hill to get in touch.

The Search and Rescue Dogs Association member lost the four keys while taking part in an operation to find a lost walker on Kinder Scout on Sunday night.

He believes the keys may be somewhere near Swine’s Back, where the path forks to the top of Jacob’s Ladder.

The rescuer was taking part in a major search involving four mountain rescue teams and Sarda members after a walker called for help when he got lost in the dark on Kinder Scout.

Edale, Kinder, Glossop and Buxton Mountain Rescue Teams were called out after the emergency call about 5.34pm on Sunday.

He was found by search dog Flash and handler John about 8pm on the northern edges of the summit plateau. The walker was then accompanied to safety by rescuers back down to Edale.

Anyone who finds the keys or hears of their discovery is asked to contact the Kinder Mountain Rescue Team via its Facebook page.'
