Have discussed with a few of you.

Plan to meet at Teggs nose bottom car pack next to the reservoir in Langley at 9.30. Easy paced assume we will be out for ca 3hrs. Forecast is OK. All welcome; bring a bottle of water and a munchie bar.

Barry,
Thanks for organising this.
I am away in Wales watching the rally but in any event would not have been able to keep up!

I am away otherwise I would have come along. I like the way Barry says it is a gentle pace and yet only plans to be out for 3 hrs. I reckon 3 hours is almost 'race pace'!

Have a good Sunday run....

Neil, I have already told Barry that I have yet to break three hours for the handicap course as it is!
As I always struggle to find the sweetie tree and am running xc on Saturday so can't make the recce, is there any chance of someone posting a grid reference for the said tree (an honest one!)?

As December approaches there will be a ~2 hour Sunday run that focuses primarily on the "Sweetie tree" location, the best route in & the best options out towards the Shining Tor descent.

This will be Sunday 30th November, posted on the forum (2 weeks before the race), run at a leisurely pace so too late for any on-the-day performances to influence the handicappers.

Remember your handicap start position/time is a reflection of the whole year's race performances so is more important than your result in the race as this is merely the outcome of 1 run and a sub-optimal effort can be easily excused away on the day!

Coincidentally enough I will be in the same area (but earlier than you) on Saturday morning with my normal Saturday group. A diversion is planned to the Sweetie Tree to adorn its boughs with tasty chocolate treats to make your reccie as authentic as possible- so make sure you get there and remove the bag etc!!

That's nice to know Dave - could nip up from Buxton early and pinch the lot. Bet you didn't know chocoholic mice frequent the area!!!!!
