UTMB etc.

There are 5 races taking place as part of the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc event between the 25th and the 31st of August this year.
Some of the harriers and friends of harriers taking part:

Julie Gardner starts tomorrow evening on the PTL (around 300km and 28,000 metres of positive height gain) as team Footless Crows with Mark Townsend.
Sarah Ledbury, former Harrier Larry Day and Harrier friend Clare Holdcroft are all in the CCC (101km, 6,100 metres of positive height gain), starting the morning of Friday 29th August.
Mandy Calvert is running in the UTMB (168km, 9,600 metres of positive height gain), starting on Friday evening, 29th August.

I don't know if any other harriers are running in the above races or the TDS or the new OCC.

They're all in action now: Julie's been going since Monday and Footless Crows are currently 3rd mixed team in the PTL. (I suspect not many teams will complete the entire course in the allowed time!) In the CCC, Sarah's been going since this morning and has reached La Fouly so far. And Mandy is just starting the UTMB.

My feet are enjoying this armchair-based ultra following, but I have to admit to some pangs of jealousy...

Cracking website. See Julies been going for 100hrs well on her way as is Sarah. Early days (hours) for Mandy but seems to be going well also. Don't envy them just marvel.

Fantastic result from all 3 macc ladies:

Sarah completed the CCC yesterday in 25:39:41!
Mandy completed the UTMB this morning in 38:25:59 - and as Kath stated, 1st V2 F!
Julie just completed the PTL in 137:08:53 as part of Footless Crows (3rd Mixed Team)!
