I have entered the Old Crown Round on July 27th and plan to go for a recce of the route (24 miles and 7500' round the back of Blencathra) this coming Thursday. I could go on Wednesday if the weather looks better, but Thursday would fit better with home and work.
Anyone fancy a trip up there? Could make it somewhere else... I know Dave Walker was wanting to recce the Wasdale race route.

I'd hoped to go up with Dave this week to recce the 1st half of Wasdale. Not had chance to talk with him since he got back from the alps.

Slight change of plan... Making it next Monday instead now due to home commitments...watch it hose down with rain now with visibility down to 50ft.
