As usual a great day out with excellent support and some good results for Macc Harriers. A bigger field this year with just over a hundred starters, and pretty horrible weather till we got off Helvelwyn - cold wind, clag and snow on the ground.
Cutting to the chase Digby and Judith Jepson were 5th and 1st mixed pair in a v impressive time of 7:54, just 5 mins off course record! Ian Hughes (standing in for Swats) with Spyke were 6th in 8:02 and 1st V90, myself and Kirsty were 19th and 4th mixed pair in 8:50 and Mandy and Hazel were 3rd V?? Ladies In about 10:40? despite being down as retired for much of the afternoon! Hazel looking really good for her BG

Hazel and I had a great day and were most surprised to see that we had retired! :? I can assure you we did no such thing and were duly awarded a t-shirt and a pretty mug for being 3rd ladies team back even if it was several hours after the rest of the Macc team. :)

The field was just a big bigger than last time I did it, but it was still just as hard. Snow on Helvellyn was normal, but sunshine on Scafell was a bonus.

Great results by Kirsty, Steve, Digby and Ian.

So next trip to Lakes will be Hazel's Big Day out!
