Gradbach Grumble - Wednesday Night Orienteering 23rd Nov.

Postby Digby » Wed Nov 16, 2011 8:07 am

The venue for night time orienteering next week is Gradbach. Parking will be at the public car park near the Youth Hostel (998 663). Pl. car share as space is limited.

Registration will be in the car park from 6.30pm to 6.55pm then a prompt start, for fun and frolics in the dark, from 7pm.

A minimum donation of £1 per person is requested to cover Jules' map printing costs with any surplus to go to Buxton Mountain Rescue. To get a rough ideas of how many maps are required pl. indicate by replying to this post if you are intending to come along.

This is a pairs event. Each person is required to have full body cover, whistle, hat, gloves and, very importantly, a compass. A safety pin may also be useful to attach the punch card to yourself.

Pub venue TBC on the night.

I'd like to come along if that's OK please Digby. Will there be plenty of easy controls? I'll bring the nipper if so.
Cheers,

Will

A few responses required I think.

Phil C - I was really hoping that a torch would go without saying. If there's anybody who didn't think one is necessary then this next bit is for you: don't forget to get dressed before coming out and shoes would also be handy - preferably fell shoes as you'll need the grip.

Will - unfortunately the course is not suitable for youngsters on this occasion.

Phil B - I've no idea what you are talking about

Brian/Matt - many thanks for your offer of help. Phil C is co-ordinating checkpoint deployment and retrieval so pl. can you liaise with him

Anything else then just post on here (no need to state the obvious and do make it coherent...)

As 'im indoors may be 'stickless' next week, if I can persuade him to walk 'round with me then we'll be there.
Otherwise I won't have a partner.
