Langley 7 Marshals

Postby Julian Brown » Tue Oct 18, 2011 3:14 pm

A few more marshals are required for the Langley 7 race, 2pm November 5th. If you can help for an hour or so, please stick your name down on here or tell me or Air Chief Marshal Alison, we have lots of not too taxing jobs to do.

Your big chance to do your marshalling bit - and thus get a run in at the Roaches the week after !!!!!

Thanks a lot in advance Julian

Come on you lot there must be a few folk who would like to marshal.

In addition, this year we need a few cake makers as we'll be doing the catering after the race - please post on here if you can offer something suitable. Ta muchly Julian

I have a place Julian (as you know... you sent it out) and would like to run, but if you're really stuck for marshals, please give me a call before the day.

I am trying to get under an hour having come tantalisingly close. I would say Luke'll drag me along, but he'll be out of sight by the Church House!

marshal - v - baking

Postby kevin mcque » Thu Oct 27, 2011 8:16 pm

having never done the L7, i'd like to give it a go (and mr. cheek advising such a mean hill - sounds mint for coming down!) - i will therefore offer to provide a home baked cake or two (likely some lemon drizzle and flapjack) - hope that satisfies the cake co-ordinator. Does it get me a free entry into the roaches?

If you need any more Marshalls let me know as I shall be free on the day. I may even be able to bake a cake - whether its edible or not is another matter!

Jules, my Dad'll do a few dozen flapjacks and coconut biscuits (they usually gain favourable appraisal). I'll bring to Registration.

Hi Hazel and John, Alison will be in touch if she needs your help.

Sorry about the mag Hazel, I've put one in the post which should be with you as soon as the snowplough can get through to Buxton. Perhaps the end of the month.

Andrea & Kath I'll get a mag to you.

Before anyone else lets me know they haven't a mag... the last one (112, green cover with John Mooney on) went out over 2 months ago, (surely I can't have forgotten everyone !) the next one is just before Xmas.

Alison Horsfield will be in touch re marshalling, but don't worry, we'll find you a job, we've got plenty to do before the rce (car parking and setting up), marshalling on the race and looking after folk afterwards.
