Day out in Lakes

Postby Simon » Thu Sep 15, 2011 11:36 pm

I am planning to go up to recce Legs 1&2 of the BG on Tuesday next week; 20th September. Going with a mate from work, Gerry Dewhurst (who some may know and who's BG in 2008 got me interested) and her husband.

If anyone fancies the trip up there, do come along... I'll be driving. Be leaving Macc early doors so the recce can be conducted at BG pace.

Cheers

Simon.

Very tempted, what time are you planning on leaving Macc and roughly what time do you expect to be back home?

I am up for this if you can find room for me. I need to reccy for a potential 50 @50 BG next May /June. What time do you intend to leave Macc.
Cheers.

Probably leaving Macc between 05.30 and 05.45...

Get to Keswick to meet Gerry and Derek shortly after 8...

Derek heads back along Cumbrian Way and we complete Legs 1 & 2.

Derek meets us at Dunmail and we return...

Realistically not back before 8 or 9, once replenished at the chippy or such-like.

Quite a big day out.

Does that sound like a plan?

Sounds good, although could do with being home a wee bit earlier if possible. I will text you to organise where to meet etc if you still have room in the car that is?

Craig'll tell you how slow I am, so to be home sooner may be a bit of a big ask!?

Right, anyone fancy another go?

Despite the faltering nature of the trip last week, I am planning to go up again next Wednesday... maybe up and down Blencathra and then Leg 2?

Any takers?

Looking a bit iffy on www.mwis.org.uk :(

Hazel and Dave, we'll confer later and post here.

Maybe go for something more local; long and make the best of the splendour we have on our doorsteps. Maybe Windgather route plus elaborations?

Shame about the forecast, but I did the Windgather route this morning and it really was quite superb up on the hills... chilly on the hands though after such hot weather at the weekend! enjoy your day out

Windgather is a great route and today looks perfect... saving myself for tomorrow, and yes, I am sure we will enjoy ourselves, whatever we end doing.

You be doing the Windgather race then?
