Pete Nolan's 70th Birthday Run

Macclesfield Harriers veteran Pete Nolan marked his 70th birthday by leading a 9(ish) mile run from Wilmslow up the Bollin Valley and back to his house in Macc where the successful contenders were rewarded with delicious hot pastries, oodles of tea and birthday cake all prepared by wife Gill. Despite the relentless pace the collateral damage was limited (sorry Phil) and had it not been for the sterling efforts of Mr Tucker, who persevered with the challenging task of sweeping from the front of the group, we might not have lost anybody at all. The terrain was generally easy underfoot and guestimates (with and without technology aides) of total climb varied from 20ft to 540ft to a mighty 1000+ feet (no wonder he got left behind). Well done to all who completed and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Pete.
