Mountaineering trip to the Alps in July?

I’m planning to go to the Alps this summer for some mountaineering. I have been nearly every summer for 10 years. This year one of my climbing buddies is getting married, and the other is doing some epic Grand Randonee for the whole summer, so they can’t do the Alps this year. Does anyone want to join me for some mountaineering?

  • I’m thinking Bernese Oberland (valley camp in Fiesch) or Monta Rosa (valley camp in Alagna), if there is plenty of experience, or Saas Grund if there is less experience. But am open to anywhere really
  • I’m happy to lead PD to AD- routes, and happy to be led up AD and AD+
  • Also enjoy valley sports climbing, via ferrata etc, and am prepared to do impressive-looking gendarmes*
  • I’m thinking 7–10 days in July, before term finishes (eg. 11–21 July)
  • We can drive over in my Bongo: plenty of space for 4 people to stretch their legs, and all the gear including camping stuff (I remove the rear bench)
  • If you know anyone who might be interested, please pass this on
  • You don’t have to have done Alpine mountaineering before, but some experience of outdoor climbing is necessary. And you have to be fit
  • If you don’t have all the gear, I have several mates who can lend, but you will need your own boots

*As long as they are actually easy
