Request re Knutsford st orienteering thurs pm

Just had an e mail from Marie David (New Member) which I can't answer other than to say I'll put her request on the forum as below:

I am a new member who is interested in taking part in this race on Thursday. As I am new to orienteering I figured that this race (which I understand is in a town setting) would be a more appropriate event for me than the club one which is through the woods (which would be too advanced for me). Do you know if there is anyone travelling there from Macclesfield? I don't have a car so would appreciate a lift.
Let me know who I need to contact about this. I would have put this request on the forum, but it is not allowing me to register.

Thanks,

Maria David

PS Anyone able to advise Maria re registering on the forum

PS Had my back op last thurs. Went well will just be sore/uncomfortable for a few days.

Barry

Marie,
As long as you`ve got a decent headtorch & fell/trailshoes Weds should be fine for you as it`s a pairs event & we`ll match you up with someone who knows what they`re doing.

Thanks for the tip Phil. I'm not actually free tomorrow, which is a shame. I quite fancy trying orienteering though so thought I could do the Knutsford event. If anyone is going and can offer a lift from central Macc or Tytherington, that would be appreciated. Cheers.:-)

Maria,
Results are here:

I see from the results that the lift from Macclesfield worked.
Hope you enjoyed the event.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for helping out on sourcing a lift. Yes I managed to get there thanks to Dave Mawdsley of MDOC. I am new to orienteering, so wasn't sure what to expect. It turned out to be lots of fun, and I even managed to escape getting penalty deductions by 2 seconds!

Looking forward to doing more events.

Cheers,

Maria
