MDOC Night Street League, Thursday 28th Feb, Macclesfield

Postby MikeG » Wed Feb 20, 2013 8:04 am

The 8th and final MDOC Night Street event, will be based in Macclesfield, next Thursday 28th February:
http://www.mdoc.org.uk/events/nightstreetleague.htm
This event will be based at the Wetherspoons Pub, Park Green, Macclesfield, starts from 6:30-7:30, register from 6pm, £3 Seniors.
The organisers would love to see as many of us as can make the event, but can we please let them know beforehand to ensure there are enough maps. If you are on Grahame's email distribution list please let him know directly, otherwise post here and I'll pass the information on.
Further information is on the website (or just ask any question on this forum).
I'm expecting an excellent performance from Digby as the course setter informs me that my house is on the map, so I assume his will be as well.
best wishes, Mike G

I'm hoping to be there too - probably solo unless Becks can change her shifts.

Hi Mike - I am encouraging my Run England beginner group to come along and so far we could have about 10 takers. Most will stay for food afterwards as well.

I'll update next week with better numbers.

Thanks

Neil

Grahame would like numbers by Saturday evening, if possible.
No information yet about Food (current assumption is that Food Orders will be accepted on the night).
I assume no-one want instructions on either how to find the pub or where to park, but do let me know otherwise.

Parking in the car park outside used to be free after 6 but it'd be worth checking.

Alternatively pay your 60 quid fine in the hope they use it to put a few of the street lights back on for a bit.

I checked the Car Parking yesterday, and the 3 nearest Car Parks, the one outside ~40 spaces, the one across the road ~20 spaces, and Duke St CP 220+ spaces are all Pay and Display from 8am to 6pm (Mon to Sat). Hence free car parking after 6pm.
Of course I'm expecting Digby will jog down to the event.

Seventy maps printed, 65 spoken for, so there may be a spare map or two, if you are quick!

Thanks to all the mdoc gang for another jolly jape. Run round a bit, get a bit lost (no names!) Then back for beer and curry, a tried and trusted recipe.

Amazing how you can find new places even in a town you've been running round for years. Learnt a new nav tip, you're probably about right if when peering upwards at your lamp post there's someone looking out at you from behind the net curtains scratching their head whilst dialling 999.

Yes, second the thanks from Julian to MDOC for a great time.
Kids LOVED it and were still bouncing off the walls this morning when I was trying to get them to school!

Another great event and thanks again to the organisers. Probably one of my highest scores of the series, but unfortunately 33 mins over time. It's amazing how you can know the area very well, but still wonder where on earth you are at times ? Anybody know where I can get a pen/pencil on a string that I can attach to my jacket or put around my neck ?
