BIG Congratulations

Postby phil cheek » Sun Jun 05, 2011 1:25 pm

A BIG first for the club on Saturday when Simon Harding became the first club member to win a Lakeland classic.By winning Ennerdale he put his name on a list of winners including Joss Naylor & Billy Bland,& still found time to greet Jon & his support as they passed in the opposite direction.
A big day for the the club on Bob Grahams as well with members playing major roles in 3 successful rounds all finishing within a few minutes of each other.
Kirsty did (I think) 3 legs with her friend Liz including a lone support of the night leg over Helvellyn, brave girl to take that on & I`m sure she was grateful for a nice night.
Ian did an early leg supporting Stockport Harrier Paul Steptoe, then did 2 legs with Jon.
Digby & Mike did 2 or 3 legs each with Paul.
And of course what felt like dozens of us helped Jon thru a hard won but undramatic success and an enjoyable evening in the George.Well done Jon.

Well done to Simon. :D
Well done to Jon. :D
I really enjoyed navigating / pacing Leg 2 this year, perfect night time conditions, still & clear, absolutely perfect & no need to use a map or compass at all.
Jon thoroughly deserved his round. He did all the reccying & training to make sure that it was never really going to be in doubt ( unless there was appalling weather ).
Who is to be next in the clubs annual completion of the BGR ?.
Cheers.
Craig.
