Has anyone got a cool box or two and a couple of flasks that they could lend me for this weekend? I can collect tonight.

Cheers, Digby

Everyone,
I know you think I`m overcautious, but I`m old & just maybe got old by being cautious!
We have a crap forecast for Digby`s attempt & we don`t want it to fail `cos supporters get into trouble.
NO-one should go out without without a GOOD cag with hood, waterproof trousers,thermals(2) or fleece, good gloves & hat.
Yes I know I`m a pain but were you there when we had our last failure (10 years ago) when Margaret & Mary were brought off the hill with hypothermia or 2 years ago when Allan Greenwood came in to Wasdale wearing 3 hats,2 pairs of gloves etc, etc,& shivering uncontrollably. We warmed him up by sending him up Yewbarrow!
PLEASE,don`t compromise on your personal kit or the support could become a liability

Boring old Phil

Good luck Digby and enjoy. I won't be there this weekend, as I see you have enough supporters to see you safely round.

Have fun Digby and don't let a bit of rain put you off as it did me and Anne Stentiford/Johnson (can you believe it!) on an early attempt in the eighties. I suspect I succumbed not simply because of the rain but because I didn't have sufficient clothing and in spite of the rain I didn't drink enough and ended up dehydrated. Of course Anne went on to greater things while I took up sheep breeding.

I thought that some of the local sheep had a familiar look about them.

22:30 hrs and he's left Threkeld a few minutes up and going well. But he's about to get slooshed on!! (Sez Phil)
The 4th legs supporters are stood in Netties Kitchen, slooshing red wine after a hearty meal at the hall. Here's looking to get sloshed in Keswick tomorrow night.
