On the kit front, it requests jacket and hat. I seem to remember reading somewhere the jacket must have a hood. Do we think jacket and hat is ok?
Please someone run with me, or i'll get lonely..

I am now able to run if the team is short of a runner? am now around, plans changed (stef is still getting married!).

Would quite like to do leg 2, or maybe 3, if possible - though don't want to put anyone out at late stage.

Dan - regarding kit. There has been a change in fra regs over kit. Now need proper waterproofs (tapped seems) with attached hood AND a hat.
I was repremanded at windgather for having only fake waterproofs - got away with not being band for 6 months as we are in "education" phase before next year. I am sure everyone else is more aware of these things than me tho...

Can I suggest the Senior team runs thus:

Leg 1 Rob Hasler
Leg 2 Tom Wild + Sharding
leg 3 Swatts + Dan Croft
Leg 4 Scott

If anyone objects or thinks a better format suggests itself, please say. Either way it looks like a good team to me!

Could I just second the importance of what Phil and Simon have been saying regarding kit.
The new safety rules have been a seriously hot topic on the FRA forum over the past couple of months.
Those who are not familiar with them please make sure you are carrying full waterproof body cover (with a hood) etc
The new rules have been introduced after some very unfortunate tragic incidents and the FRA are really serious about them.
I get the feeling that kit checks will be rigorous at the weekend and they will enforce them and ban people to make an example to others.

I've got cheap waterproof trousers, a hat and a decent hooded top. Should be OK?

Hi Rob, The trousers are fine so long as seams are taped.
New FRA rules for minimum kit are as follows:
Waterproof full body cover with hood (head to ankles), hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and spare food.
They also mention spare warm top and possibility of bivy bag for medium and long category A. Not sure if this will apply to legs 2 and 3 on Sunday...Phil may be able to shed more light than me!

Yes, fine.
And there's still space for more in the Bongo.

Shall we rendezvous at mine -- 15 Tunnicliffe St, Macc, SK10 1DE (near the footbridge over Hibel Road).
Time tbc, because I think 06.00 but others think later . . .

OK, let's say 06.00 at mine.
If it is just us 4 we will go in the car.
If any more turn up we will go in the Bongo.

See you tomorrow morning,

Matt

I still have room in my car for tomorrow.
Hazel, Martin and I are leaving our place at 6:45am.
Please let me know if anyone else still needs a lift.
