SUMMER SERIES Champs after Calton Crawl and Hope Wakes

Two races this week.

Calton Crawl on tuesday with just 3 Harriers in a small field of 67. Julian Brown was 1st V50 followed by Julie Gardner and Jo Miles 1st and 2nd LV 50's.

In the Hope Wakes race on Wed in a large field for a midweek race of 233 only Dark Peak had a larger turnout than Macc. The 13 Harriers included 7 ladies with Angela Markley (3rd Lady); Rachael Lawrance and Alannah Birtwistle (3rd WU23) taking 2nd ladies team place behind Dark Peak. Mandy Calvert came 2nd LV50. For the men Pete Neild was 1st Harrier in 19th place followed by Brian MacFadyen and John Mooney.

With 6 races to count and just 4 races to go John Mooney leads with 3898 pts having completed 5 races, followed by Pete Neild on 3514; Angela Markley 3126; Brian MacFadyen 3076; Graham Brown 3023 and Richard Applethwaite 2888. Alannah Birtwistle is next lady on 2868. All these have 4 races under their belt.
