Saturday run 18th July 10.00am Flash Bar

Postby Hazel » Mon Jul 13, 2015 4:47 pm

Am planning to lead a run from Flash Bar (Flash Stores) on Saturday starting at 10.00 am primarily for those of Neil Gunn's D and E group who are interested in fell running, and wondered if anyone would like to come along to assist as Kath Turner is unable to this week.

If there are no takers I still intend running from Flash anyway, so if interested please let me know.

Hazel

Heather and I would normally go on a Saturday D group run but would love to come along to your run, we are still finding our fell feet but we know most of the D & E Group and have done a number of Sunday Fell runs, Teggs Nose Mondays and Tuesday Potters.

Can you direct us to Flash Bar?

That's great Chris that you are both coming along. Flash Bar Stores (and cafe!) is on the A53 Buxton to Leek road about 3 miles from Buxton. If you are coming from Macc go past the Cat and Fiddle and just before you come to the main right hand turn onto the A54 Congleton Road there is a tiny little right hand turn. Turn right and then immediately left onto the Congleton Road and virtually immediately right onto a minor road across the moors. This will take you over to the A53 Leek Road. Turn right and you will see Flash Stores next to the Knights Table pub (used to be the Travellers Rest) on your left. If you should miss the turn across the moors continue on the road to Buxton and at the T junction turn right and you will be on the A53. Continue until you reach Flash. I hope that isn't as clear as mud, but let me know if you need any more info. There is usually plenty of parking in front of the Stores but the owner asks that we park sensibly as it can become limited for her customers.

I did miss one important point for the run - please bring your pennies for a cup of tea at the Cafe after the run!
