Ideally I'd like to go up and down in the same day. Anyone else contemplating the same and want to lift share?

My tip is to take some dosh, as at places like Heptonstall there are nice shops where you can get extra supplies if required - like an extra woolly or snow shoes to cope with the conditions. Probably be a really nice day... Anyway if we survive the run, the next challenge is to survive a night in the dreaded YHA!

Many thanks to Trev for suggesting and organising, and partner Hazel for company !

We all had fun on the way round, some more fun than others, and more fun down the pub later.

Great weekend away !

Here are the results from this weekend's Hobble.

Conditions were far from pleasant but not impossible. The rise to Top Withins was misty, cold with light snow and a following wind. Thereafter things stayed much the same until 15 miles in at the hot-dog checkpoint where the wheels dropped off the Longman / Tucker team due to Trevor unfortunately having a devastating injury problem that also, of course forced me to drop out as well.

Results Hobble 2013
36 233 5.06.43 Julian Brown M Macc Harriers 47 M45
46 45 5.14.30 Digby Harris M Macc Harriers 45 M45
90 265 5.47.40 Lawrence Day M Macc Harriers 38 M35
159 222 6.22.20 Jon Tatham M Macc Harriers 42 M40
207 854 6.59.42 Hazel Winder F Jo Miles F Macc Harriers 62 50 F55
250 111 7.41.47 Nancy Bunyon F Macc Harriers 48 F45

The Fleece was on form in the evening and we had an enjoyable de-brief session there until returning to the YHA - which I have to confess was not too bad. Nice and warm, food available at breakfast and an impressive Gothic building.

Injury afflicted Andy Skelhorn as well who crashed coming off Stoodley Pike and had to retire.

I'm sure the other folks who completed the route will fill in what the latter half of the race was like and post their commiserations to those of us who fell by the wayside.

Thanks everyone for a brilliant weekend away and well done the finishers, some really good times there!!!!!, Particular thanks to Jo for great company and navigation, and also to Julian, Jo and Nancy for lifts to and from Haworth. I was going to say thanks to Trevor for organising the weekend away but its beginning to sound like a Bafter award speech!!!

Despite great efforts from a certain pair the girls whopped the boys, and as it was very obvious from early on the chaps didn't have a hope in hell of catching them, I am afraid the strain became too much and injury set in.
